Recognizing a need for custom plastic thermoforming services in the southeast, Bill Trometer started Asheville Thermoform Plastics in October 1998, in a 2,400 square foot incubator facility.


From an initial focus on dunnage and thin gauge packaging trays, which were manufactured using hand made molds and fixtures, our competencies have expanded and evolved. Through the addition of 5-axis CNC routing machines, solid modeling technology, coordinate measuring machine and additional forming equipment, we now boast the ability to design, reverse engineer and manufacture precision components in heavy gauge as well as thin, for several industries including communications, medical and construction.


A second generation of the family is currently positioning the company for growth, and we now own our 15,000 sf building situated on five acres of prime industrial land ready for expansion. Design, tooling, prototypes, and full production runs are all available under one roof, to keep lead times short More... and assure superior quality.


 Asheville Thermoform Plastics is located in Fletcher, North Carolina, about 5 minutes south of Asheville, 111 miles west of Charlotte, 45 miles north of Greenville, SC and 124 miles east of Knoxville, TN.

Custom profile plastic extrusions extruded to precision tight tolerance. American Extruded Plastics can extrude both co and tri extrusion profiles from most thermoplastics.


Custom pipe or tube plastic extrusions from .020" OD to 10"OD using both single screw and twin screw extruders. American Extruded Plastics can extrude from paper thin to very heavy wall thickness.

American Extruded Plastics offers full CNC plastic fabrication to our extruded and injection molded plastic parts. Using state of the art multi-tool change machining centers we offer only the highest quality finished plastic fabricated parts.


For many years American Extruded Plastics has been the leader for custom plastic extrusion of tube, pipe, and profile shapes. Our equipment ranges More... from a very small 1" - 24:1 single screw extruder to a 500 pound per hour twin screw extruder. We are very comfortable extruding single plastic materials or co extrusion or tri extrusion of both tubing or profile shaped plastic parts.


 Our on staff engineers can assist with design problems using both 2D and full 3D CAD (Solidworks) systems. All of our extrusion tooling is built to our specification within our company. Our goal is to build tooling that will last for many years making perfect plastic parts. Twenty four hours per day we are here extruding many different parts for hundreds of great customers.
