The Ellwood Closed Die Group (ECDG) reliably delivers complete forging solutions. ECDG, owned by Ellwood Group Inc. (EGI), consists of three facilities located in southeast Texas collectively offering closed die forging, heat treatment, testing, and machining of carbon, alloy, stainless, titanium and nickel-based materials-all in the house. Founded in 1910 and privately held, EGI is a growth oriented company with nine separate business units. All of its business units are non-union and have a strong focus towards safety, quality, and reliability. Its capabilities include steel melting, mill products, open die forgings, closed die forgings, grey & ductile iron castings, heat treatment, testing, and machining.

Jorgensen Forge brings a powerhouse of equipment and capabilities to bear. Whether our customers are looking to take their projects to outer space, underground or out to sea, we have the expertise and resources necessary to get them there. We offer a proven track record producing seamless rolled rings for aircraft and aerospace products; high-strength, nonmagnetic drill collar materials and other drive related components for oil and gas applications; conventional and nuclear power generation products; and the most advanced propulsion shafting and other types of marine hardware.


Jorgensen Forge produces open die forgings with hydraulic presses ranging from 660 to 5000 ton capacity. Rolled rings in a variety of metals are manufactured on one of two ring mills with sizes ranging from 12 inch O.D. to 180 inch O.D. In addition, our hydraulic expander allows sizing and expanding rings up to 225 inch O.D.


Heat-treating includes horizontal and vertical furnaces as well as a drop-bottom furnace More... to facilitate rapid quenching of aluminum. Machining equipment consists of engine lathes and boring mills with a 20-foot diameter capacity.


 Jorgensen Forge is capable of working with an array of alloys including low alloy steels, Austenitic Stainless, Martensitic, pH stainless grades, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, and nickel base alloys.

An AS9100D certified company, Barron is also NADCAP certified for digital radiography, penetrant testing and welding; as well as GE yellow pages approved. With comprehensive single-source capability, Barron offers complete turnkey manufacturing of components for aerospace, defense, automotive, oil and gas, nuclear, medical, and other commercial industries. Barron provides concept-to-completion development and production of investment casting projects from a few ounces to 150 pounds. Precision cast parts are machined, assembled, plated, painted, tested, part-marked, barcode-labeled and securely packaged for shipping. All capabilities are located in-house. Ferrous and non-ferrous alloys poured include class II armor, stainless steels, tool steels, aluminum, cobalt, and copper-nickel alloys.
