Hoyt was started back in the 1940's as a repair facility servicing the elevator and escalator market in New York City for carbon brushes and copper contacts. It was purchased in the 1950's and began growing the business through the acquisition of smaller fabricating companies in the area. In 1981 we moved into our current New Jersey facility and began producing our own contact materials, and increased our manufacturing capabilities. In 1998 Hoyt then acquired our own Copper Extrusion mill in Eastern Pennsylvania to support our need for complex specialty shaped copper bars for use in our contact production. In 2021 Hoyt was acquired by precious metal component manufacture Deringer-Ney Inc. Since Hoyt grew up in the aftermarket, we had to acquire many skills, equipment, and techniques to offer a wide range of products to an ever-expanding market. In the early 1990's Hoyt began to attract larger OEM companies looking for help in producing a higher level of product to support their production More... efforts. In the last few decades, Hoyt has transitioned from a primary aftermarket supplier to a versatile OEM supplier with an amazing in-house capability to produce an extraordinary wide range of products.
