LJ Fabricators, Inc.

LJ Fabricators, Inc. opened in Rockford, Illinois, during June of 1983 by Larry A. Johnson. He purchased a 6,000-square-foot building at the corner of Grable and Kishwakee Street. LJ Fabricators offered all the services from the traditional metal fabricating job shop which included shearing, punching, forming, sawing, rolling, spot welding and MIG / TIG welding. The building was expanded to 11,200 square feet in 1987, and in November of 1989 Larry recognized the need to expand the services provided at LJ Fabricators by purchasing a CO2 2-dimensional laser. This machine would cut up to .375-inch-thick mild steel along with several other different types of exotic materials. The variety of services was expanded again in June of 1992 by adding 3-dimensional laser cutting. Since 1992 LJ Fabricators has continued increasing capacities, which resulted in moving to a new facility in 1995 with over 39,000 square feet. 2004 we bought our first 4400w Bystronic laser with a tower system for lights More... out operations.2005, we added an additional 20,000 sq. ft. with a 10 ton overhead crane. 2007 yet another 4400w Bystronic laser connected to the tower. 2009 we added yet another laser, this time a 6,000w Bystronic with a bed size of 79" x 158" and cutting 1" thick mild steel, 3/4" stainless and 1/2" Aluminum. 2010 and 2011 we replaced aging Brake presses with new state of the art Bystronic Expert 165/220s. 2013 we replaced our old 20/20 Trumpf punch with a larger Trumpf 5000 with a 60x120 load/unload system, another lights out piece of equipment. 2014 we just bought and will have installed in Dec., a 6000w Fiber optics laser and a 320 Bystronic Brake Press.Today with a manufacturing technology and support staff over 35, we continue our quality metal fabricating services.
