Central Welding and Iron Works has equipment to work any material. Plates and shapes are cut to any profile and laid out using CNC Equipment. High speed plasma cutting ensures accuracy and speed. The appropriate welding processes that are employed include manual, semiautomatic, and automatic processes. Careful fit ups and skilled operators ensure high quality welds. Gail and Stefan Thomsen purchased Central Welding in 1980 and began specialty bridge fabrication from a small shop in North Bay. To accommodate steadily increasing business, the company moved into new facilities on Seymour Street in 1985 and built a second plant in 2007. Today, the office and production facility covers a total of 110,000 square feet. We have the capability to take on any project, large or small. In 2009 Stefan and Gail began the process of turning the company over to their children. Their daughter Stefanie is now the Vice President of Finance and is also responsible for Engineering. Their son Erik is the company's President, he oversees production and sales. It is the people that Central Welding & Iron Works has recruited over the years who are responsible for the success of the company.
